offers the
intelligent print solution

Less than 2% of all companies know their total costs of printing (SafeCom a/s market study). We make it possible for your company to manage and control the cost of copies and print. You can reduce the costs up to 70%!

Does your company know these costs?

·         Up to 20% of printed paper is wasted (never collected) or lost (collected by other person by mistake). How much paper is wasted at your company?

·         Printing sensitive documents in today's office environments are becoming increasingly difficult. Because high costs and IT logistics prevent users from having their own personal printers, this is a dilemma faced by large and small companies.

Benefits of the solution

·         Accounting: Costs monitored and logged on user or user-group basis.

·         Access control: Personal card and/or code to control printer and MFP access and usage.

·         Increased security: Documents print only after the user has identified himself at the printer. Protect print data all the way to the printer by applying encryption.

·         Decreased waste: Minimize costs due to documents that never get collected or are collected by the wrong person by mistake.

·         Flexibility: Print jobs follow users to their choice of printer.

Case Stories

University of Lincoln

”We saved over £ 100,000 in the first year”

According to, Adrian Wheal, Director of Learning and Information Services at the University of Lincoln in England, the starting point was a situation typical of any educational institution. The amount of waste and abuse was enormous because printing and copying were neither tracked nor charged. No one had any idea how to account for costs. Utilization of capacity was unbalanced, and there were often long waits at the printers.

A flexible and economic solution

An assessment of the requirements of the University of Lincoln found that a SafeCom solution was necessary. The solution included:

Multifunctional machines used for printing, scanning, copying and e-mail.
Pull-print functionality so users could freely collect their printing from any printer.
Payment methods
Individual payments by students (e.g. prepaid quotas, credit cards, money payments).
Invoicing methods for specific departments or satellite offices within the school.

First year roll out

The students quickly adopted the new system surprisingly well, even though they now have to pay for their printing, scanning and copying. The flexibility and the ability to choose where the individual work will be printed have ended many at-the-printer frustrations. Scan-to-mail, a process where you can scan a document and send it straight to your e-mail, was a huge success among students and faculty alike.

Teachers and staff appreciate the great flexibility as well as increased security behind the SafeCom Pay system.

All costs are covered by the user payments, and waste is practically eliminated. Volume has fallen by 20% and the overall savings made in the first year ran to a spectacular £100.000.

A sigh of relief

Adrian Wheal of Lincoln University found the flexibility and accountability he was looking for through the SafeCom Pay system. All users within the school are happy with the change and are realizing new productivity levels. The system has created the foundation for new and improved development.

“It was far easier than we ever dreamed possible,” says Adrian Wheal. “In a world where few IT projects are free of problems, we were amazed by how smoothly implementation occurred.”
